Proof We Have the Cutest Kid Around

Every year Orem City has a carnival and parade called Summerfest as a way to celebrate the city and kick off summer. I remember going as a kid but haven't been in years due to not living here. So Dillon and I were excited to be able to go this year and take our little lady. We had heard there was a baby contest a decided we had to enter Sequoia.

I was super nervous a didn't want to be one of those freaky 'pageant moms' but took her anyway. First they took her picture to keep track of who was who. She did great and took an awesome picture. Then we went over to the judges and they talked and played with her. At one point she cried and had kind of had enough. There were TONS of people there so we didn't get our hopes up. But...

She won FIRST PLACE!!! Don't worry, I didn't spray tan her, put fake teeth in, or put the worlds biggest flower in her hair. She was just her sweet self and the judges loved her!

She won a medal, a shirt, a certificate (my fault they spelled our last name wrong, lame), and a bag full of prizes and goodies. But most exciting she got to ride in the parade.

The weather had been a little cold and rainy that day. Right before we found out she won we decided we weren't going to go, but then we figured we couldn't someday tell her she won and we didn't let her ride in her first parade!

They only let one parent per child ride on the float. I think Dillon really wanted to but realized if she got fussy he would probably have a melt down himself so he let me take her. She was so cute the first few blocks she was waving and smiling and would dance to the cheerleaders music on the float behind us. But by the time we got to where Dillon and our families were sitting (the end of the route) it was all I could do to keep her entertained. Overall she did awesome and it was fun.

Congratulations little angel! We love you!

Sequoia didn't need to win a contest to prove she is the cutest little girl around, everyone already knows that!! She is darling, and how fun to be in a parade!!
Congrats on being an Aunt too!!

Girl you have a gorgeaous baby girl there! I remember doing the baby contests with Kylee and all that hey Kylee made it to internationals and we went to Atlanta Georga, Guarantee Sequoia would go that far and more if you put her in them. Kylee loved all the attention she had a blast doing it!
