so, i thought i would do a 'black friday' post instead of flashback friday. but, turns out i had a bit of a flashback this morning as i was out and about: waiting in line at 4:30am on black friday is a bit of a tradition for my family. i still remember one of the firsts times we braved the early morning doorbusters, we were at shopko. we were waiting outside for the doors to open with a big crowd of people, some lady got overwhelmed and passed out. i learned quick you couldn't be a lightweight in this business. so, fast forward to this morning. my mom was unable to go, but she taught emily and me well. we knew exactly what we were going for and we got there early enough to wait in line before the doors opened. as soon as they did, i ran and got the items we came for and emily jumped in line. i met up with her and we waited for awhile until it was finally our turn. i put the items on the counter and the teenage boy rang me up. as soon as he told me my total i suddenly got extremely light headed (not because of the price, but it was hardly a commercial for the items we purchased) and the next thing i knew i was passed out right there in the middle of the craziness! luckily the lady in line behind us was a nurse, security was called, and i came out all right. emily finished the transaction, and as soon as i gathered myself we were out of there. you'd think that would've be enough for us, but no. three stores later we decided it was time for a nap. so if any of you braved black friday today, i was 'that lady' that couldn't take the pressure... how embarrassing, at least i can blame the baby right?
