Moab 2012

The annual Clayton Reunion was held in Moab on the second weekend in April.  Unfortunately the weather wasn't quite what we had hoped, and we again missed Dillon, but we had a great time anyway.  I sent Sequoia down with my parents a day early and then drove with my cousin and her husband.  Sequoia is still talking about how much fun she had with grandma and grandpa in Moab.

This was the first trip to Moab since my dad's had his Jeep and he was in heaven!  Apparently I missed a great ride on Fins & Things Friday but I was able to join everyone for On Top of the World Saturday.  The great thing about the Jeep was when the weather went bad we just put the top on and turned up the heater.  Sequoia loved off roading with Grandpa Bruce and was such a good girl in the back seat next to Grandma Sheila.  That left me up front.  If you know me you know I'm not a huge fan of the off roading situation but things were a lot different in the Jeep, it handled things so well!  These were a few shots from my view (ignore the obnoxious ones that didn't rotate thanks to the new blogger... anyone else struggling with it???)

The trail was a lot harder and longer than any off us expected but once we got to the top it was so worth it!  The view was incredible but whoa!!! a little scary! Zac drove his ATV as far as he could and as everyone was exploring we realized he was pretty lucky not to have gone TOO far or shifted this rock... YIKES!
Me and baby girl 'on top of the world"

Everyone who made the trek (except Bridger I think) Yes, my grandparents in their 80's made it, they're so cool!  This was less than half of the crew we had all together in Moab.  Some brought bikes, hiking gear, etc. so we kinda all went about our various activities during the day.

Unfortunately I didn't take a whole lot of pictures aside from the ride.  It was a little too chilly to do much outside of the trailers but we had a great time rotating from trailer to trailer playing games, eating, watching movies, and visiting.  We went into town Saturday night and almost everyone got tacky touristy shirts.  Also while we were in Moab Sequoia and Zac and Kelsey's dog Duke became good little buddies.  Sequoia loved that he was small enough to tug around on a leash, she is in a very bossy stage right now so it was perfect!
Moab was good to us again this year.  We love it and can't wait to go back!
